At Open House we want as many people to be involved as possible. We believe in a community-led coffee shop and so we’ve created five teams for people to join and volunteer their time, skills and insight. The PRAYER TEAM will be responsible for praying for all aspects of Open House; from the current building project to being available to pray with people when the shop is open. In line with our values, this team’s role is keeping the focus on Jesus.

The COMMUNICATIONS TEAM will be responsible communicating our mission and values; from email updates and social media, to signs and literature, this team is focussing on making sure everybody is welcome and knows what’s going on!

The DREAM TEAM will be responsible for (as the name suggests) dreaming and planning the future of Open House. This includes (but not limited to) a range of things from imagining the decor of the coffee shop to what social gatherings and groups we provide. This team will search for innovative ways to share the gospel and making sure the coffee shop is suitable to do so.

The FUNDRAISING TEAM is responsible for raising funds – and supporting those raising funds – for Open House; from grant applications to sponsorship and loyalty cards. This team is helping Open House and its supporters to give generously.

The OPERATIONS & ETHICS TEAM has the catchiest title… This team is and will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the coffee shop (pre and post-opening); ensuring ethical purchasing and equal opportunities are available. Ultimately, this team will ensure that people are more important than money. Right now, that involves project managing the renovation work – working alongside various contractors and professionals to create a safe and inclusive space.
