Coffee
Both coffees we serve at Open House are hand roasted in Leeds by CLO Coffee, and all their coffees are ethically sourced.
Solomon’s Porch (70g/2.2l)
Solomon’s Porch is Open House’s main blend when hosting pop-up cafes. This is a Fairtrade Certified and a great crowd-pleasing specialty coffee, made up of Rwanda Aba Sholi Kundwa, Honduras & Colombia Planadas. This Rwanda Coffee lot is sourced from smallholder farmers representing Kundwa Women Coffee, a women-only farmer group operating under Abateraninkunga Ba Sholi (Aba Sholi) Co-operative. We brew this coffee in 2.2 litre flasks that keep the coffee hot for up to 4 hours.
Solomon’s Porch was the entrance to the Temple where everyone was welcome. We want this coffee serve to make everyone feel welcome and included.
Decaf Colombia (55g/1.8l)
The decaf coffee we serve is from Colombia, and is a real favourite! Arabica specialty coffee, gently processed naturally, without harsh chemicals, leaving lots of fantastic flavour (tasting notes: chocolate, redcurrant, lime). We brew this coffee in 1.8 litre flasks that keep the coffee hot for up to 4 hours.
How to brew and serve the coffee
How to use our urn
Cold Brew (Garden Sounds only)
This is a drink that will be prepared ahead of Garden Sounds; essentially it’s a coffee concentrate that is served with ice in a cold cup.
- take a cup and fill with ice. Use the same cups as all the other drinks.
- Add 80ml of cold brew concentrate (using the metal measuring cups) and add to the ice
- Ask the customer if they would like their brew made with water or milk – top up the cup with either of those options.
Cold brew can be made with alternative milks also.
Teas
At Open House we serve a variety of different teas. On offer, we’ll have Yorkshire Tea, Decaf English Breakfast Tea, Red Berry Tea, Peppermint Tea, Ginger & Lemongrass Tea, and Earl Grey Tea.
You will have a 10 litre urn/water boiler for making teas. Simply place the teabag in a cup, add hot water and serve.
